Founded in 2002, Options Schools are free, public charter schools serving grade 6-12 students in all 92 counties in the state of Indiana. With a high-quality, individualized approach to education, Options Schools specializes in providing students with an inclusive environment, unparalleled support, and a student-to-teacher ratio of 15-to-1. Options serves students through multiple in-person programs and a fully-virtual program.

Options Schools is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education. In Sept. 2024, Options was presented with an award for Excellence in Community Collaboration from the Indiana Department of Education.

What is the story behind your business?

Prior to becoming one of the first five charter schools in the state of Indiana in 2002, Options served as an alternative program for Carmel Clay Schools students in search of a individualized approach to education.

This quote from a 2024 Options Graduate says it all… “Options was the best thing that ever happened to my academic career. I never planned to graduate high school and when I transferred to Options during my senior year I felt like it wasn’t just a school. The teachers and staff treat each student as if they were a part of their own family and it helps kids in more than just academic ways and really brings out everybody’s each unique personality and really gives everybody room to be themselves, judgement free, and just really figure out where they want to go in life.”
