Tell a story about a great customer experience.

“I want to share a short version of Oliver’s story and how much the YMCA has made an impact in our lives. Oliver was born with numerous abnormalities, including a TE fistula, esophageal atresia, kidney abnormality and an AV canal defect with a split in his mitral valve. He has undergone several surgeries, most recent to repair his heart. He has shown delays in areas, most noticeably physical delays, so when he was very young his pediatrician recommended joining the YMCA and trying swimming lessons. My mental health was also a concern as I am an only parent with a full-time job and no family or “village” in Texas. His medical challenges were taking a toll on me, and she could see that. Oliver has and still is participating in swim lessons, ballet and soccer. Since joining, he no longer needs speech therapy, feeding therapy or physical therapy. He is still small and growth is an ongoing concern but his personality and confidence have blossomed like crazy and I have to credit the Y for that. His comfort at the WhiteRock Y is very sweet to witness, he thinks it’s an extension of our home, and in a way, it is. With the 3 programs he’s involved in, along with Child Watch, PNO, Easter egg hunts, Halloween events etc., the Y has become an enormous part of our lives.

For me, I have been able to meet other families, my own physical and mental health has improved and being able to give my son these experiences has meant the world to me. I would not be able to do any of this without the financial support so generously given to us. We benefit daily. THANK YOU! “
